I ran the western digital diagnostic utility, it reported no errors (even with media check), but everything seems to be working smoothly now. I am now installing windows xp pro at normal speed. I thought I was going to have to RMA the board! Thanks for your time, have a good night...
heatsink is on correctly. I have a retail athlon xp 1800+ with the retail hsf/thermalpad. Power supply is amd approved 450w from austin. keyboard and mouse are plugged in correctly.

Yeah, I have about three orders for non gaming systems to build for Christmas. Nforce2 igp would have been a great solution. I'm still going with nforce2 boards, just adding radeon 9000's instead.
It's Wednesday already, I'm just curious as what anandtech thinks "early next week" means...
anyone know when nforce2 igp mcp-t solutions are going to hit stores? I see igp mcp-t products on the epox and leadtek sites, but I can't find any place to buy them. I can't wait for the review!! hurry!
