Closed or without side panel case? Which is best?

I've had my previous computer running for the past 3 years 24/7 without the side panel installed. Now that I've build another machine I'm wondering if it's best to have the case closed so that the air flows better or if it's the same or even better to not installed the side panel improving...

    X1900XT power connector?

Thanks guys for the replies and the offers. I'll try to hunt some locally (I'm from Portugal). I was hoping to give the new card a try with BF2 but I guess it will have to wait until Monday. I must say it's a very very bad move from ATI (and/or the company selling the cards like Asus...

    X1900XT power connector?

I've just build a new machine (A8N32, 64 3500+, X1900XT) but when booting up I get a message from the board that the power connector to the graphics card is not connected. Sure it's not, I didn't received any with the retail package (Asus). Also, my PSU doesn't have any 6-pin connector...

    Athlon 64 3500+ and X1900XT or Athlon 64 4000+ and 7800GT?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I've just looked at the Opteron 146 possibility and the resellers I work with don't have it on stock. I would have to order it. From what I can understand I'll also need a different board since the Opteron is socket 940 right? -- Steven

    Athlon 64 3500+ and X1900XT or Athlon 64 4000+ and 7800GT?

Unfortunately none of my retailers currently carry the 3700+. Only the 3500+ and 3800+. So, which 3500+ or 3800+ core should I get for good overclocking? Thanks, Steven

So, which 3500+ (or 3800+ in case I decide to increase my budget a bit) core do you guys recomend for good overclocking? Thanks for all the replies so far. Steven

    Athlon 64 3500+ and X1900XT or Athlon 64 4000+ and 7800GT?

I'm facing a slight thought decision when looking at what hardware to buy for my game machine (I do all the work on my laptop so this machine will only be for gaming - BF2, CoD2 and the occasional dvd or cd burning). ------------------------------------- Western Digital 250Gb SATA II com...

How hot do Pentium M 755 2.0 get?

I bought an Asus M600N a couple days ago. I noticed that it gets hotter than my good old L3C asus (regular Pentium M 1.8). I thought that the new centrino line of processors had even less heating "problems". My 2.0 GHz (2 Mb cache) is always between 70 and 80 degrees Celsius (158 Fahrenheit)...
