One thing that does confuse me about ViewSonics site is that they don't specify 6-bit (18-bit) or 8-bit (24-bit) color. Or perhaps I'm just not digging around enough. One last note. I've tested the LG 1720P and it's also a great LCD, but all of the LG 17" LCDs are 6-bit, I've confirmed this...

I had a similar startup problem and just set it to "anti-hacking." NV suggests this setting if you're using a SW firewall (Zone Alarm) and it did not interfere with my home network setup. Not sure exactly what anti-hacking provides security-wise, but as long as it doesn't cause a conflict I'm OK.

membreya: I wasn't sure if a 12" would fit in front of the HDD bays. Do you have the 6" mounted to the window? If so, is it a problem when you need to remove the window for access? Is the inverter mounted tot he window also? I got a dual 6" CC (Flexiglow), but the kit did not come with...

Well, ordered the VP912b from Dell for $500 (incl tax) and free shipping. Lots of $$$ but seems like a very good value for a high quality gaming monitor. Since it is not scheduled to ship until 3/7, I have a lot of time to reconsider. Just hope I won't regret the decision in a year if prices...
