I was referring to the horizontal scroll bar directly on top of the Microsoft Corporation logo.
I guess the Knight Rider reference was a bit vague :)
I am trying to figure out what is locking the system at that very initial point of Windows boot.
Safe Mode boots just fine... albiet...
Hey all,
My computer just started freezing right at the initial Microsoft Windows splash screen where the little knight rider scrolling bar appears.
As soon as the bars appear, the computer hard locks.
I have not made any hardware changes for some time... nor software for that matter...

Yep... it take very little power up to 3.6/3.8... but after that you really need to step it up.
I have bios set to 1.4205v (something like that), actual voltage turns out to be around 1.44v (CPUID)
I could not keep it stable @ 4.05 (450*9) until I increased NB & SB to 1.5v...
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but the individual cores always run much hotter then the cpu.
I think the common unit of measure is the CPU temp. (as opposed to individual core temps).
When Intel lists the thermal limit of the cpu, (45nm are in the lower 70's) they are referring to the...
I just got 4.05 stable on a Striker II Formula.
set bus = 450mhz x 9.0 multi = 1800FSB
RAM (Hyper-X): 5-5-5-15 2T @ 2.0v
CPU Voltage: 1.43750v (I found this to be very important for stability)
NB/SB = Auto
This has been passing Orthos/Everest/gaming stress for the last 24hours...
I think your temp's look OK.
The temp's for the individual cores vs. the chip temp are significantly different.
E8400 @ 4.05Ghz (1.4250v)
Chip: 41
Core0: 57
Core1: 57
I am using a Noctua NH-U12P as well.
OK... perhaps that is the key difference. I installed SP1 last night, with mixed results.
Crysis worked pretty well on day 1.
Stopped working for unknown reasons (Cannot load file & some other error msg. about side-by-side)
SP1 lets Crysis 32bit exe load up... but it loads in 800x600 and...
Nice! I just built a tri-sli this past weekend. I also chose to use 3x 8800GTX's, as I am matching them to a 30" 3007 as well.
To drive 2560x1600, everything pointed to the 384bit/768mb 8800's vs. 256bit/512mb 9800's.
This thing can score 14k+ 3dmarks @ 1920x1080. The raw horepower of...
I think the Tagan you mentioned, and the PC Power & Cooling are the the only two on the market, in stock.
If the price advertised is correct: $210.00

That would be a sweet deal... I will inquire tomorrow.
Would love to!
I am putting them in a COSMOS 1010 case (w/ESA). Motherboard will be an ASUS 780 based board. E8500, 8 gigs of DDR2 (have not picked them out yet). 10k raptor system drive with XP 64bit.... 30" Dell 3007.
I would really love a PSU with ESA.... PC Power & Cooling 1200ESA...
