Thanks for the info Modelworks, I figured as much. I guess that's why OEMs have resorted to chipping to protect their little scheme. It can't possibly be for better ink management if these particular models use up ink so fast, right? If I am not breaking any regulations or rules by using 3rd...
Thanks for the info. I am guessing you haven't had any issues with these. Do they last as long as OEM ink? I guess I shouldn't really complain given how much cheaper they are. I have never used 3rd party ink before and this is a relatively new printer but the OEM ink goes for around 70 bucks...
Has anyone tried the 'compatible' 3rd party cartridges for the mx860? I see the color combo pack for much cheaper and I wonder if these chipped cartridges work just like the manufacturer's.
I used to have a 3870 but I game on 1920x1200 so I went with a 4870 1 GB. I think the logical progression for you would be a 4870 512 or higher, if you want Nvidia then something in the 200 series. I think a 4770 is a lateral move at best with more benefits on lower power draw and temps. It...
I don't have any experience with those other versions but I like my Vapour-X 4870 a lot. It is very quiet and reasonably cooler than the stock version. It works great for me since I do not have a machine with a whole lot of space and airflow.
Can underclocking do any kind of damage to the card if done improperly? I'm curious because I have a HD4870 1GB card in a small case and every little bit helps I guess.
Is it just me or are these expensive panels such a rip-off? 500$ for 24 inches is soo 90s. As much as I dislike this 1080p trend, I hate paying too much for a screen. Didn't we learn enough from overpaying on video cards?
Anyway, I bought a Dell 2409 and while I don't game competitively, I...
Thumbs up to the OP for getting the Vapour-X. I'm not regretting this card so far and I've been abusing the hell out of it. My machine needs more airflow however as it is starting to get warmer here back east.
Agree to this, as I have had to do this several times for the HD4870. I had to connect the power cables first before I slide it into the PCIE slot since there is very little wiggle room to do it afterwards.
I just got one of these babies to replace the SAPPHIRE 100259-1GL. First thing I notice is it is more streamlined, damn thing even has a blue light so I guess it has a coolness factor if you're into that sort of thing. Performance-wise it is the same but the really beauty is with the fan noise...
