tjdavis: has the retail HSF improved regarding noise? my retail HSF on an athlon 650 is incredibly loud and emits a very annoying whine, i'm hoping that amd and/or taisol have resolved this

Hey guys, thanks for the help. That Taisols (CEK733092 I believe) sounds good. Although I don't think the dbA is 21, but rather the CFM is, and the dbA is 36.5 ... even higher than the 3Dcool fan.

Hi Rigoletto, Do you know of any places that sell an especially quiet 6cm CPU fan that would sufficiently cool an Athlon?

Mark, I have a Gigabyte GA-71X. I looked at the fans at 3dcool.com and the Athlon Freezer looks nice, but I am only looking to replace the current fan, not the heatsink as well. Do you know if the fans on the Freezer would fit on the stock Athlon heatsink?

I'm looking for a quiet replacement fan for my Athlon. The stock fan is so loud in my system, if I stop the CPU fan for a second, the noise of my computer goes down about 85%, so I'd like to get a different fan that is much quieter and works with an Athlon and keeps in cool. Any suggestions?
