    Unable to edit system rigs

So, uh...thread necro time. Are system rigs dead? My bookmarked link no longer works so I'm guessing this was gone with the transition to the new forums/site?

RMClock and AMD X2 Brisbane CPUs - an unstable combination?

Any news on this? It looks like RMClock still hasn't been updated since '08.

    Battle of the 10-foot UIs

Awesome. I had been looking for a recent comparison, but could not for the life of me dig any up. Thanks man!

    Battle of the 10-foot UIs

For laptop control, I'd recommend something like Logmein for easy, free remote access. For remote control, is it a Logitech Harmony? If you get a standard Windows MCE IR receiver the Harmony remotes can interface with that.

xbox 360 hdmi with a hdmi->dvi adpater on dvi monitor

There shouldn't be any issue with that kind of setup. I've gone from DVI output on a cable box and computer to HDMI input on the TV, and vice-versa. As long as you got the right adapters and they're not busted, you'll be in good shape.

AT is moving from FuseTalk to vBulletin

Any updates on this? I imagine it's a huge undertaking, but I wasn't sure if it was still moving forward or if it is no longer being done.

    Battle of the 10-foot UIs

So what's the current consensus on HTPC user-interfaces? What's everyone using these days? I've not found any good links to comparisons between them, and I haven't played with any of them for at least a year and a half, so I'm a bit out of date on what's kicking the most butt these days...

Anyone notice a drop in Hard Drive Quality lately?

If you suffer repeated, frequent drive failures like the OP is, I think you should check to make sure you don't have really bad electrical wiring. It sounds to me like drives are frying out due to poor power input. If you're not running on an AVR UPS, then you should get one ASAP.

    Tiniest Bluetooth adapter around?

You guys rock. I had heard of the Princeton Bluetooth adapter on engadget back in August with that EXACT same profile, but couldn't find anybody in the states selling it, and never managed to stumble across that Cirago model in my searches. Thanks again!

What is happening to my hard drive??

So at idle, is there anything consuming your CPU cycles in the Task Manager? Are you on Vista or XP?

What is happening to my hard drive??

Constant disk access, often called "disk thrashing," is usually a symptom of insufficient RAM, heavy disk fragmentation, disk failure, or a virus/spyware infection. The first thing I'd do is a simple SMART diagnostic on the drive to determine it's health. You can perform this with software...

    Tiniest Bluetooth adapter around?

I'm trying to find a bluetooth adapter for my notebook that won't protrude too much. The smallest one I've found is about an inch long, not counting the part which fits in the USB port. Logitech recently released a non-BT notebook mouse which had an impossibly small RF dongle, so I can't...

Reading a Mac drive on a PC

I've got a client who needs some data pulled off of a external hard disk and transferred to DVD, and they don't have a DVD burner. Normally this would be a no-brainer, but they're a Mac user, and it's an Iomega brand external hard drive, so I'm guessing it's mac-formatted. If it is, what are...

    Penn and Teller on Creationism

Years of neffing on forums has taught me that as fun as it may be, there's about a .01% chance of dispelling a creationist loon's fallacies, misunderstandings, and ignorance about science as it pertains to evolution and cosmology. All I care to contribute to this debate anymore is what I...

    Memory for a HTPC?

The HTPC I set up for my brother is strictly for playback of DivX and MP3 files onto his 42" LCD TV. Since he doesn't do ripping, transcoding, TV tuning, or anything along those lines, he was able to get away with an Athlon 2000+ with 256MB of PC3200 on WinXP. YMMV, but he can play back h.264...
