Is it time for a new laptop?

I think the problem is with the HDD... bcoz, if its a heat problem, bluescreen-BSOD will probably not occur in most systems while booting, the system will simply hang or reboot. "- chksk runs until computer shuts off (only gets to ~15%) " does this always happens when its around ~15% ? If...

A small request for all the Fasterfox users: Please DO NOT check "Enable Enhanced Prefetching", this option will silently download all linked pages in the backgound even if you do not see it. This drastically increases the bandwidth costs for the website owner. Think of it from a point of a...

    Seagate 320GB SATA drive problems

The noise is coming from the new 320GB HDD only. When I unplug that drive, my system seems to run perfectly without any noise. The problem is that it does not happen always. It happens at random times, sometimes at the bootscreen itself and the machine hangs, and sometimes it happens hours after...

    Seagate 320GB SATA drive problems

The PSU was the one which came along the Zebronics Chasis. So I think it is Zebronics ZEB-400W Plus [the label mentions 400W PSU, and a line in it mentions "Total Output : 380W"]. Thanks for the reply. I also think that its not related to the PSU, as it was running fine before the SATA...

    Seagate 320GB SATA drive problems

I recently purchased a Seagate 320GB SATA drive [7200.10 with 16MB cache] as additional storage to my existing 80GB PATA boot drive. The problem is that I hear screeching noises randomly for a minute or so and the system hangs whenever this happens. I have heard similar sounds in my external...
