I would do One from lemon Law, check the thermal compound, that could result in you CPU heating up because the of the inefficiency of the heat transfer from the CPU to the heat sink.
Is you connect wireless? Or is it wired? and I would like to know what is you ISP, and what brand and model number is the router that you use?
There could be three problems with you connection, one is that you ISP is has crappy uptime, you router is having problems, you have a bad cable, or...
Ok I will check that when I get home from my classes, and double check my connections, also would a bad HDD( The Seagate I think is DOA) prevent it from booting to windows?
Media Server, file Server, Firewall, mail server, you have alot of option to uses those server, or as MustISO said they are just PC that add features that makes it uptime alot higher
