    Overclocking + Undervolting

I overclocked my old 6300 to 2.8 and undervolted to 1.1 or so.. shaved off about 10 degrees idle/load.

    Just got my $199 e6600

Right, I've said about 5 times now that I cleared the cmos multiple times. I've tried in 2 motherboards. If ES runs hot, I still didn't want it, I don't like my procs running that hot, as it lowers their lifetime, I undervolted that ES to 1.1 and still got 50c, which is too much in my book...

    Just got my $199 e6600

I returned it to them, no they can't legally sell it to me, but they did anyways. Ok, so how do I run a D920 which takes what, double the wattage of that e6600?

No I didn't but I did short the cmos jumper multiple times.. which is the same thing.

    Just got my $199 e6600

I returned the ES for a refund since they couldn't get me a different one. And I'm chugging away with my 920 on the same mobo as I chugged with the 6300, so I'm sure it's none of those, as it doesn't work in that brand new board also.

So consensus say... poo poo cpu, time to email fry's! I hope they have one to send me, they sold out of these things fast :(

    Just got my $199 e6600

Well I'm on the computer again, and all I did was switch back in the 920... so it's none of that, not a motherboard issue. I tried the 6600 on a new board I got for the 920, and it won't even post... any other ideas?

    Just got my $199 e6600

the 6300 was running hot, about 50c or more depending on voltage. I cleared the cmos multiple times, as it wasn't booting up. I thought I tried everything, and I guess I was right, suppose it's RMA time.

Already tried that. It won't go past post screen, it just sits at a command prompt, like right before it's supposed to say the irqs and where it says "boot to cd" If nobody can think of anything, guess it's to the RMA bin :(

    Just got my $199 e6600

Just got my e6600 from fry's and the ah heck will post but not get past that. I had an e6300 ES in there previously but I rma'd it a few months ago. Put in my old pentD920 and it's been going smooth since then. Got in on the 6600 deal, and it's not working. It's Step F, but I'm not...

    Incorrect Temperature Readings

yeah, so does tat. The Pentium D, however, isn't a Core processor. So either I need an external (inaccurate) diode, or I don't know its temp. Why is my Bios, in both motherboards, wrong? I see a lot of people's bios report somewhat accurate temps from the bios, like 30-50c, why are mine...

    Incorrect Temperature Readings

Ok, so the last 2 motherboards I've had have both had incorrect Bios cpu temp readings. My old one was with my pentium d 920 which gave me readings of 16idle/22load. RIIIIGHT. My external diode was 30idle, closer to reality. Now, in my new motherboard, p965-s3, my new core2duo was reading...

Slight problems with stutter - HELP

I'm also having a problem in both xp and vista with my x1950xt's vivo. The video in is constantly jerky, it will play for 2 seconds and then loop like a .2 second frame.

Slight problems with stutter - HELP

My 4 pins are all attached into the mobo correctly, and I'm using the default spread of thermal compound that came with the ac7. Could I just have a hot chip? It's an engineering sample B0. Gigabyte's thermals say 20-30c but tat's say 54-60c.. I don't get it.
