Thanks. I think this answered my question which really should have been does the APU access the memory directly for the video memory, or does it use the OS to address the memory. Sounds like it uses the OS so it was a good decision to only go with the 4GB.
I have a question about APUs and >4GB on a 32-bit OS. I assume that if I put 8GB of memory in the system then the video portion of the APU can use the space that the OS can't. Is this correct?
I just upgraded a broken MB to a A6-3650. Since I was not upgrading the HD I just left 32-bit...
So I tried Furmark with my HR-03 GT and my Noctua 92mm running at 1400RPM with the LNA adaptor in. It gets up to 63C. The CCC auto-tune had put the core at 690MHz and the memory at 1163MHz, but when I ran Furmark I would get artifacts as the temp went up. I had to bring the memory down to...
I purchased the HR-03 GT and a Noctua 92mm fan for my Asus 4850. I currently have the L.N.A. adaptor on it so it runs at 1400RPM. Just using the Catalyst auto tune I am up to 690MHz on the core and 1168MHz on the memory. I have yet to get over 50C at load.
