EA planning $70 price point for PS4 games.

Look what they are doing. Crowing about bigger margins and more profitability Stating games will be cheaper and quicker to make. Creaming more cash flow with micropayments for virtual stuff that is already in the game Leverageing cross platform gaming (you can bet this will cost you) Increasing...

Be interested in the thermal profile of this APU. 150-200w tdp I would think.

EA planning $70 price point for PS4 games.

Yes EA we enjoy paying $10 extra to purchase an incomplete game then having to pay more during play to get what should have been in the $60 retail game... EA, ruin everything.

    Skyrim or Far Cry 3

I got bored of both of them Far Cry 3 has some crappy game mechanics that put it a rung below Skyrim IMO.

The OS etc have a separate processor to run on. Hopefully more cores helps AI etc

Killzone analyses: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-killzone-shadow-fall-demo-tech-analysis Ok not pre-rendered but lots of shortcuts, but acceptable for gameplay. The CPU doesnt need to be so strong , and at 1.6ghz vs the in order powerPC cores of cell its fine. The game...

    GDDR5 vs DDR3 in PS4

PS4 will only have enough graphics power to push 1080 games. it may be able to do 4k video and images but it wont do 4k gaming. 'It may be overkill, but that's not a bad thing'. If 4GB of DDR5 sits in the console unused for its life then its wasted cost and expense.

Killzone was probably pre-rendered and watchdog was running on a PC. We've seen numerous claims of real in game graphics at console launches (including sony) which end up being renders.

    GDDR5 vs DDR3 in PS4

All things are possible! It could well be expensive though adding a new memory controller and probably means splitting ram so no unified memory. Sure 2gb is nice for a few games, at what resolution? Remember this will be locked to 1080 max, perhaps 2gb is a sensible amount for 1080 with AA and...

    VGLeaks: Xbox 720 specs rumor

The 32meg cache/buffer can cancel some of the memory bandwidth advantage. And Microsoft can afford to fight sony on price, with cheaper hardware and more money to burn. What they also need is more exclusives.

    GDDR5 vs DDR3 in PS4

Theres no need for the CPU to have GDDR5. Theres little need (if any) for the GPU to have more than 2-3gb of GDDR5. Rememebr its going to be pushing 1080p max gaming resolution (1920x1080). 4GB GDDR5 would have been enough, adding 2GB DDR3 would have been nice but with the APU platform its...

Sony themselves wont stop used games working but will probably support devs who want to charge extra for re-licensing them

I doubt the PS4 will be easier to dev for than the nextbox, microsoft own at development tools. If the rumours are correct the ps4 will have the edge in terms of hardware. Microsoft could choose to launch at half the cost of the PS4 tho.

    GDDR5 vs DDR3 in PS4

GDDR is similar to DDR but optimised for bandwidth. So the PS4 will have lots of bandwidth for graphics. But it looses out on latency so the cpu will suffer some. The weird thing is the info on the gpu being limited to 2gb of the gddr5, that doesnt make sense. The best option would be mix it...
