Well, I ordered on July16 at $345 shipped, and got an email July21 that it had shipped. But there's no tracking number (as of July22), and with this huge price increase announcement I'm very suspicious. Has anyone called provantage to see what is up with someone in my situation? thx!

Please keep in mind that many people have fried their Athlon64s by raising voltages too high. There's a thread on it at xtremesystems as I recall. Be careful!

I've heard of many problems with this board. What's worse is that anyone having a poor experience from low-balling on the motherboard usually ends up dissing AMD forever, which is a shame. Spend a few bucks more on a quality board or wait til ECS gets the bugs out.

I wonder what type radiator fan we are talking about here. I have 3 low-speed 92mm Sunon fans on mine (a flatpanel type) and its basically inaudible. You don't need much airflow on a mildly overclocked system as you discuss here.

False. Both boards have the identical Soundstorm chipset. The Asus has an additional coaxial (I believe) output, I think a 2nd NIC, and a gameport. The Abit has heatsink boltholes, which greatly increases heatsink options, higher voltage options.
Both would be fine for running a 2500+...
