Good stuff ... long term goal is to extend the life of my computer by adding a 2nd 8800GTX to it via SLI. In general (being a former Intel-chipset bigot) what has been the most stable and somewhat overclockable 680i? I know the Striker had hit or miss issues but was the P5 really much more...
Excellent response Yipster, just what I was looking for. Based on your response to Stryder, I'll look at the P7N Diamond board. I've been suffering for a year with an Intel BadAxe2 board and I long for some stability ... any stability!
To avoid reposting the same question, can someone tell me if the 780i chipset with PCI Express 2.0 x16 double the bandwidth for my existing 8800GTX by virtue of wider bandwidth than a 680? If not, is there any reason I shouldn't just find a good 680? I believe the 790 will require new RAM (mine...
Can someone elaborate on how to save a file locally from a workspace and have the ability to get updates? I am following steps from Microsoft. I have the document in a shared workspace, but when I open it, I should be able to select "Save updateable copy" from the Documents tab in the Shared...
Argh - I'm not the owner of the document (although I created the workspace from within Word - then uploaded this new document to that workspace). This is retarded - I'm guessing SP may not have been developed by MS.
Here are two quotes from O'Reilly that give credence to the fucntionality...
KB - how are users able to work with the document offline without breaking the link to the original document? I believe I'm following procedure listed in the manual where the user opens the local copy and is able to "get updates" from the workspace.
This might be a FAQ, but basic functionality is eluding me. I?ve gone through the O?Reilly SharePoint book and a couple of website tutorials, so I believe I am following the proper steps here.
Issue:
I have a workspace created with the intention of having a document able to be modified...
Thanks Ayah - going with onboard RAID looks like best option (cost-concious) and I just need to target other components now. That case/PS combo looks great, will have to keep eyes peeled for similar if I pull the trigger on this. If this is to be a dedicated drive share, what suggestion for...
Ya know? my mobo knowledge is a bit "aged" and it took me all of 1 google search to find an Asus motherboard (Asus K8N-E Deluxe Socket754 ATX) that has onboard RAID 5 (SATA) and all the bells and whistles for < $100. GigE, USB 2, Firewire, AGP8x, etc. Thus, no need for an expensive controller...
I want to build a box centered around a large Raid 5 array which will serve to backup computers at my home. My primary computers are a corporate laptop and another workstation (games/video editing) running Raid 0, so I want to offload data from those systems for peace-of-mind.
Priority: (1)...
