    Chrome on android GalaxyS5

Hi, I've had an S5 for about 8 months and yesterday went to the amazon home page to browse books, which I haven't done on my phone much except through the amazon app. This time I used Chrome, and when I got there it said, "Hello Taylor," which is strange because I'm not Taylor. And when I...

    Wings Over Flanders Fields

I know, but I can't stress enough how much they've done with it. Graphics-wise, it can't compete with Rise of Flight, though it's still quite pretty, but it's AI and campaign tear RoF to shreds.

    Wings Over Flanders Fields

I can't imagine many flight sim fans wouldn't be aware of this (unless WWI ain't your thing), but just posting that Wings Over Flanders Fields (WOFF) was released last month, which is a successor to Over Flanders Fields (OFF). If you're not into flight sims, you probably won't be too excited by...

CRT screen expands beyond border when...

That sounds like a good call. It occurred to me that it happened a couple times elsewhere... during flashing scene switches in Bioshock Infinite. Thanks!

CRT screen expands beyond border when...

I have a Sony FW900, and whenever I open up a browser the entire screen expands a bit. Even if I don't open the browser full screen, my icons drift a bit to the edge, and if I do maximize my browser it expands so that I can barely see the minimize hash. So naturally I set the horizontal and...

The OFFICIAL Anandtech Forums TeS V: Skyrim Thread

Yeah, mine was turned off, but it still updated. Then when I went to check, it was set back to auto-update. As stated above, it seems you can still put back the old exe if you made a copy of it. The new one was doing weird stuff to my menus, and I had NOT tried to apply the LAA to it.

Actually, they just released a small patch/hotfix that replaces the TESV.EXE so that the LAA no longer works (for those who swore it did).

Well, what do you think might have happened, then? I understand that anecdotal evidence isn't scientifically valid. I saw people arguing what you've said before applying the fix, and I honestly was skeptical when I applied it... I just thought I'd give it a shot because I got tired of crashing...

The OFFICIAL Anandtech Forums TeS V: Skyrim Thread

Call it kool aid, placebo, whatever you want. If I played the game for an hour or more, I was sure to get a random crash, not to mention purple textures and missing body textures after playing awhile. After drinking the LAA kool aid, I haven't crashed a single time... not once... in 5 days of...

    I thought I was a PC gamer ?

For me, I don't think it's that games have necessarily become worse, but that I just don't get sucked up in them like I used to. I feel like I don't use my imagination to get into the game as much as I used to, because instead of feeling wrapped up in the imaginary world the game offers I just...

    8800GTS or 9800GTX+

Thanks for the advice, but am planning on sticking with Nvidia as the game I'm gunning for (a WWI conversion of the Combat Flight Simulator 3 engine) runs better with Nvidia cards, I'm told.

    8800GTS or 9800GTX+

I've not intention to SLI or anything. Just want to get a good card to go with an E8400, mainly for combat flight sims. Was gearing up to make new system purchase when saw GTX+ coming out next month, and wondering if anyone knows enough about it to recommend waiting or not, and why. Price...

    New build

Actually, the 9800GTX+ (so named now) that's coming out next month. Nvidia's attempt to downplay ATI's preview of the 4850. To quote the article (found here) - "The 9800 GTX+ is a die-shrunk G92 based on TSMC's 55nm process, the same one used by AMD for the Radeon HD 4850. The GTX+ runs at...

    New build

Thanks all. I ran across a recommendation in another thread for the modular Corsair - http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817139001 Was thinking that since I'll have a pretty barebones setup, perhaps this would be a nice way to keep clutter to a minimum. Only concern I've seen in a...
