There's a much easier way, and it's perfectly safe for the coating on your screen.
Use oil ... any oil ... cooking oil, motor oil, WD-40 etc.
You will be amazed at how easily it removes the sticky, gooey mess.
Use the same tecnique to remove the stupid thermal tape on your processor before...
