    Antec P180 case and Haswell

I have an old P180 and a Z87-A. The front USB header works fine. For the audio, you'll need to set the pin-out (in BIOS) to AC97 and in your driver software you will need to disable jack detection. As an alternative, you can connect up the individual wires I reckon. I haven't tried this...

PCIe 6-pin: Pin #5 is tapered or square?

I agree. My problem isn't with the PSU quality, though. I just need to get a molex-to-6pin adapter since my older PSU doesn't have a 6-pin at all. My problem is with all of the improperly made adapters on the market.

PCIe 6-pin: Pin #5 is tapered or square?

I thought so. I think some of these idiot cable makers are building and shipping cables with a 6-pin connector that's meant for a modular PSU.

PCIe 6-pin: Pin #5 is tapered or square?

I need to buy a molex to 6-pin adapter to use a new Asus GTX-460 with my older PS. I noticed that some people were having trouble with these adapters, specifically with pin-5 being the wrong shape. Does anyone know which one of these PCIe connections is on the ASUS card? I can't just look...

    939Dual - Memory "loss" under 32-bit Windows...

I know WHY the hole exists. What I don't know is how big the hole is with a 939Dual. Different boards handle this issue differently. At work, we flashed a new BIOS into some IBM servers and made the hole smaller...

    939Dual - Memory "loss" under 32-bit Windows...

I have 3GB in my 939Dual and Windows only reports 2.5GB. On the other hand, WinMSD gets it right. I'm dismayed since the PC's at work don't "lose" any memory until you hit 4GB. For those of you running the full 4GB of RAM, how much RAM does Windows report?

The "pause key torture test" in HL2!

The lock is followed by a sudden reboot. I don't think software is gonna cause that unless it's a device driver. Nevertheless, I replaced the 6600GT with my trusty old ti4200 and the system is stable now. Many of the stutters while gaming are gone, too. Newegg has two 7600GS cards, both...

Good one. :P It locks and reboots during gameplay, too. It just takes longer...

The "pause key torture test" in HL2!

<crossposted from another forum> Here's an odd one for you guys. I have a Prime95-stable rig that cannot tolerate hitting the PAUSE key during Half-Life 2. After 1-15 minutes of being paused, the system freezes and then reboots itself. Gameplay will cause a similar crash but only after much...

    939Dual - Tips on HTT > 255?

I converted my board into a brick when flashing that BIOS. Doing 1.20 to 1.60 from within Windows was successful with both boards, but the OCW BIOS from DOS killed a board. I don't trust the DOS flash utility any longer.

    939Dual - Tips on HTT > 255?

I've read the FAQ's, scanned the forums, and tweaked every setting I can get my hands on. I cannot get my board to run Prime95 stable above 255MHz HTT. I thought it was the CPU, but lowering the 9x multiplier down to 7 or 8x had no effect. CPU-NB, NB-SB, and RAM divider have all been tried...

939Dual - Is there a BIOS recovery method?

I just flashed the OCworkbench B2 BIOS into my 939Dual and turned it into a brick. I read somewhere that the AMIBOOT.ROM trick does not work with Asrock boards. Sure enough, it never lights up the floppy. Anything else I can try? I already cleared the CMOS..

Need PnP ID from 939Dual's PATA controller

Windows XP supports 10B9/5229 right out of the box. Awesome! That's exactly what I needed. Thx!
