the reality amd faces with regards to nvidia's market share and more importantly, mindshare, is that this fury card needs to be either:
1) same performance/OC ability as 980ti for 20% cheaper ($549), or
2) same price as 980ti but 20% more performance across the board (making it the undisputed...
im not really feeling this 5.5gb ram. sure it's enough but still leaves a nasty taste.
i hope this trend of "cut down" cards having segmented ram doesn't continue in the future, but realistically speaking its practical for nvidia.
kepler got screwed so hard, but what's even more pressing is that you need a titan x to run it in ultra in 1080p 60fps. that means this game is 2x more demanding than even gtav. i woulda been ok had the graphics look like the 2013 ingame footage, but the current downgraded graphics doesn't...

the 970 is amazing for current games and a great value with the w3/batman bundle. the key point is to enjoy maxing out the card right now and unload in 16 months when pascal hits and nvidia stops coding drivers specifically to overcome the 3.5gb issue. this isnt a card to keep for 2-3 years...
that grass look nasty as hell. a far cry from earlier screenshots and goes way beyond a "sharpening filter" as the devs claimed.
very disappointed by the texturing as well. going DSR/VSR isn't going to change that.
the overall feel/atmosphere is just too...vibrant. i was expecting something...
the way things are playing out, im very glad that i sold off this game on ebay.
i'll pick it up on steam bargain bin for $10 this winter when they put out an enchanced edition with better graphics.
I don't believe we will see much in term of price adjustments for the 970. The 980 though is about $100 overpriced and the impending release of 980ti might push it down.
