I have 6GB of RAM installed on my 32bit Windows 2003 R2 machine. I am seeing BSOD very often with errors like "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" and "PFN_LIST_CORRUPT" which appear to be memory related.
The motherboard is a Asus P5K-E which has P35 chipset.
The memory is 4GB (2 sticks) Patriot Extreme...
Thanks, I appreciate all the advice.
RebateMonger: Can those steps be performed on the same machine the drives are currently hooked up to? Its just a data array (not primary), so I'm not trying to boot from it. So can I just hook up 1 drive at a time and turn off RAID within the bios.
I think it might be too late. :(
After the initial failure the RAID array broke. Now I'm thinking that was actually a safety feature, to avoid data loss to replicate...?? I joined the array back and booted in to Windows already, last night. I think I'm screwed.
If the data has...
But would the "data loss" (or missing data) situation replicate to the other good drive since its mirrored?
I'm at work right now, I'll try what you said when I get home.
Hi there.
I have a P5K-E mobo which has the ICH9R raid controller.
My boot drive is a Raptor 150gb, but for data I have two SATA WD 320gb drives in RAID-1 and it has been running fine; until yesterday.
- when I came home from work and turned on my screen (my desktop is always on), i was...
Hi there.
My system was working fine yesterday, I was using it with no issues. The computer remains on all day, it is plugged in to a UPS.
Suddenly today the computer is not working. Here are the symptoms:
- Computer seemed like it was running, the fans and HDs were spinning.
-...
The "good" stick also fails memtest after 22 passes, running single 1gb stick at 1066mhz and 5-5-5-18. Should I accept that as normal or return both of them? Also do you think Crucial will refund my money via Warranty claim or just keep sending me bad sticks of RAM??
JustaGeek is right, I had a Gigabyte EP35-DS3R and thats exactly how it worked. Auto settings would make it "around" 2.18V and setting it manually allows you to pin it down with more control, taking 1.8V as the base and +whatever.
Makes sense. So is this list accurate?

Might help us decide what to get. And what have been known to be stable Micron chips, if not the D9GMH. I thought I read somewhere the D9's were good in general.
I have had terrible experience with Crucial RAM recently, past two 2GB PC-8500 Ballistix kits had to be sent back due to one stick (in each kit) being defective. Wish they'd let me keep the GOOD one, I'd have a working kit by now.
Fyi, I've had bad experience with Crucial RAM. Sending back the second batch of Ballistix PC-8500. Its definitely the RAM since one stick works like a champ and one is throwing errors at a specific memory address.
Hey man, I found your thread. ;)
Since you are running your RAM at 1066mhz I would suggest trying 800mhz. What motherboard are you using, I'm sure someone will be able to help you find it.
Edit: Okay I missed where you mentioned your motherboard, just saw that.
If you haven't tried upping the voltage, give 2.2v a try since thats what Crucial suggests. Also you will want to find in your BIOS where you can tweak the DRAM Frequency and see if that helps, you might be able to run stable at 800mhz which would be satisfactory.
By the way, I have adjusted the voltage to 2.2v and the timings are super relaxed. Besides should I expect an error just on ONE stick if its a voltage or timing issue?
The address thats throwing errors is only when doing tests at memory address 209183f4.
Obviously that address is...
