Thanks for the reply. Budget is not really a concern but I don't have much use for x570 benefits like PCIe 4.0. USB 3.2 could be useful though I am not sure if I'll see anything positive in daily use. Also, I can only see one x570 ITX board releasing tomorrow.
I got 2x8GB Ballistix 3200MHz/CAS...
Planning to make a purchase in next 2 days and have couple of questions -
1. Which 400 series ITX board is most likely to ship with a working BIOS for Ryzen 2? Asus had their BIOS ready for 6+ weeks but can't find a confirmation that the new board came with the latest BIOS. MSI probably the...
During Ryzen 2000 launch I remember there was a CPU loaner program available for new CPU purchasers just for flashing the latest BIOS on the older chipsets. Anyone know if such a thing is planned for 3000 series?
I am in the same boat and planning to buy an Asus or MSI mini-ITX B450 board along...
Thanks jagger, sorry it took a while to update. The motherboard was dead and I replaced it with Asus M3A78-EM, but thinking of getting it replaced again with a Biostar TA790GX XE since it's 790GX and has better RAID / SMART capability.
I lost the data as the 780G board couldn't show anything...
I got into a trouble last night while updating the BIOS for Asus HD 4850 card. I ran this file but it never showed up even though I could see it running with 50% CPU in Task Manager. I gave it about 10 minutes and then tried to kill it but that didn't work.
I then shutdown the computer with...
I am in the same boat as well. I have a Biostar TA690G and was wondering if it's possible to support AM3 CPUs from chipset point of view. Of course it'll be at Biostar's discretion whether to release a BIOS with AM3 support even if it's possible, but that comes next. They didn't support Phenom...
I got this Biostar TA690G board with 2x 500GB drive in RAID 0. In the BIOS (Advanced) menu, I have also enabled SMART. But the problem is, neither ActiveSmart nor Everest can detect the drives or show SMART information.
Do I need any other software to do it? Or I am missing some trick in the...
Thanks MarcVenice for the hint :) The memory defaulted to 1.95V after I flashed the BIOS to 5/16 version. Made it 2.15V and things are much better. Only issue I have now is not related to OC. I'll post it if it happens again.
The BIOS' are having some issues, I get an alert saying "BIOS ID Error, are you sure to program?" and wasn't brave enough to proceed. I am still having a few stability issues, but somehow Orthos runs fine for several hours without any issues and the system locks up when left unused for few...
Both these boards seem to overclock similarly, at lest 1 person has been able to do the same with both the boards. See this and this
Today I flashed bios 4/27 and could reach 310. Almost stable, except a few blank screens under gaming/heavy 3D operations, which is a known bug for 4/27 bios...
Thanks friends. I reduced the HT Link multiplier to 3 from 5 and I could increase the clock to 295MHz. Now CPUZ reports 885MHz HT Link, 2802MHz for CPU. I reduced memory multiplier and now memory running at 275MHz (it's rated 333MHz), so memory is not limiting me anymore.
But it's not stable...
Several forum members have successfully overclocked their Brisbane 3600+ above 2.8GHz with this board, so asking the question.
I have the latest BIOS (516) from the Chinese site and this memory running @373MHz with 4-4-4-12.
I am running the board clock at 276MHz (default 200), memory...
Alright, last update to this monologue :) RMAd it and ordered a 690G board (Biostar TA690G) as it's a proven one and recommended by Gary (not officially). Newer ATI drivers are hopefully better ...
