The bios was corrupted. I exchanged it and now everything is working just fine. I also about a SATA harddrive/dvd/cdburner.
First thing I did was check the bios. And behold, the IDE Controller option was there to enable and disable unlike the other board.
Okay, so I cleared cmos, pulled out the battery, switched the ied cable connection, and changed the drive jumper settings.
So now the grey end goes into the optical drive, the black part goes into the harddrive, and even after doing this they are not showing up in Bios. I saved/exited about...
I will go ahead and try that in a bit but what about the missing IEEE 1394 Controller and IDE connector options under OnBoard PCI Device? Is that normal?
I have an IP35-E motherboard and under Integrated Peripherals->OnBoard PCI Device, the options for the IEEE 1394 Controller and the IDE Controller do not show, only the Network Controller and Invoke Boot Agent settings do.
