Very intersting. Hadn't been really looking at the ati cards much. Also, I wasn't planning on purchasing the card right away. Bioshock is still a month and a half away so I've got some time. I just like to research these things early. Thanks for all the input.
I've had my 7600gt for a year now and it was considered a mid-ranged card back then. There's a huge number of great games coming out this fall (Bioshock, Crysis, UT3) and I'm looking to upgrade so that I can run them all well on at least medium settings. Is the increase in performance of a 7900...
I recently purchased a new 1080p HD LCD TV and when I plug in my Media PC the max resolution I can display is 1152x864. If I try anything larger the image gets shrunk with huge black bars or just blows up with part of the display offscreen.
It's a pretty old PC and the card I'm using is a 6600...
I have a similar problem. Got the same mobo and just recently upgraded to the X2 4400. My computer fails to boot just before reaching the 220 mark. I'll try some of the advice I've seen here and if I make any progress I'll let you know what I did.
Found the manual and along with it the program I need to flash the bios from windows. After checking the asus website it seems I already have the most up to date bios, despite the fact it's well over a year old. There is a newer beta version but I'm not sure if I want to deal with that. I...
I'd be ashamed if I didn't align the cpu correctly. :) Right now I'm in the process of trying to update my bios. First I updated my chipset drivers just in case. Now with that done I'm trying to figure out how to do the same with the bios (never actually updated the bios before). From what I...
I've built a few PC's over the years but never had this problem. I had the following MB and cpu combo:
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 2.0GHz Socket 939
I upgraded to:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Toledo 2.2GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939
With...
Looking to get a decent widescreen monitor for a variety of uses including lots of gaming and movie watching. Was hoping to not spend more then $300 when I ran into this at newegg:

There are only 2 reviews but the specs appear...
Ever since I built this PC little over a month ago I've had this problem. I get the BSOD and the PC reboots. It happens randomely and not very often (every couple of days).

I was about to post a topic on a similar problem. Ever since I built my new PC about a month ago I have been getting BSOD's every few days. Usually happens while I'm surfing the web. It happened most recently yesterday and when the PC rebooted all my bookmarks were gone. The error report says...
(I think this is the right forum for this)
My old tv tuner card crapped out and I've been trying to find a replacement. Would like to have HD capabilities (through cable, not antenna) and be reasonably priced with decent DVR software. So far the only one I found was at Newegg...
So I've just built a new system with some moderate OCing in mind. This was a first time for me so I did alot of reading and research on the subject. Then I downloaded clockgen, oc'd the system by 20% with a slider and then hit apply. Is it really as easy as that? I was expecting to have to do...
