Well, no luck. I disconnected the 10-pin front panel audio connection to the motherboard, and still have the static / digital tone going on through speakers only.

I see, however that does not explain why the problem persists with a USB / external audio card. Also, headphones work fine 0.o

The digital out on the front of the case IS the headphone jack. Same issue.

Yes, that was my first thought, so I hooked the speakers up to my laptop and played some tunes, no problems.
