Hey, Well I read on other forums that the JMicron controller does indeed support ATAPI devices. But I guess i'll either buy a SATA HD or a converter and just like you mention avoid the JMicron controller as it is really causing problems.
Some development, tried different things last night. Uninstalled the Jraid tool and uninstalled the Jmicron drivers put Jmicron setting in the BIOS to AHIC. WinXP detected another IDE Controller and the Jmicron controller also. Installed the Standard IDE Controller for the newly IDE Controller...
