Try to reinstall windows you may have corrupted the win reg with that os on that other drive. So just reinstall windows if it still happens then it's your Hard drive. If you can just try to do a windows repair.

yep..... I think you will have to redo all you network settings.. :)

You have to open up msn mesenger go to file then click on properties then uncheck run at startup or start when windows starts.. It will be something like that. :)

You may want to look at administrative tools in the control panel. I think you may be able to remove them for there. Am not to sure about it. :)

What are you trying to do here??? Are you just trying to install the drivers for the HD or are you trying to install windows ME on the new HD?

I whould said it sounds like your running something in the backround but on shut down you whould have seen something like close program or end task.. So with that said, It may very well be motherboard related. If it did not start to you updated the bios. You can't flash it back to the old bios?
