new system which brand of X99 for less than $300

Not sure why you want a M.2, as there is no advantage other than form factor, if you want fast ssd and not take up a pci-e slot, you need U.2 NVME

    FuryX now = 980ti 1080p/1440p > 4k

Maxwell OC extremely well, Fury X might caught up a bit when it come to non OC reference card, but once you OC a custom 980ti, the difference is still huge.

    Nintendo DX GPU?

Other way around for me, I couldn't stand tale of abyss when it came out because the char and voice acting are too kiddie to me, never thought it would happen but it did.

    FuryX now = 980ti 1080p/1440p > 4k

Just buy a G1 or Strix, same real world performance as lightning, $20 to 30 more than Fury X.

Would upgrading a I7-930 to a Xeon X5680 be worth it?

Ok, so this is pointless Quote: Originally Posted by Burpo What you don't see in any of these graphs is a Hexcore Xeon at 200Bclk & 4.6Ghz.. A WORLD of difference then..

Stop avoid the point by reposting. I am not here to respond to you, you responded to my comment to the benchmark posted by RS, and seems your response doesn't have a point at all.

2600k going from 3.4 to 4.7 would be a world of difference too, overall quad core do tend OC higher as well... so your point again?

Other than memory intensive task where tri channel helps, all I see is 2600k just walks over the 990x, and 2600k is nether high end nor new.

LOL, week 1 920, ran it at 3.8G 24/7 for 6 years. 5930k now, night and day difference.

U2, 3.1, PCI-E 3.0, which is big one if you do SLI, but otherwise not too big. Lastly, http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-X-980-vs-Intel-Core-i7-5820K/m1822vs2579 Sure, X58 OC very well, but X99 OC very well too. If you don't want to OC...

Would upgrading a I7-930 to a Xeon X5680 be worth it?

Loads of non sense, when X58 came out the standard for Sata 6.0 gbps and USB 3.0 wasn't even finalized, I don't care about how premium your board is, BS won't get you a feature that simply did not exist at the time. Some later X58 boards have them, not premium or not, just like top of the line...

Would upgrading a I7-930 to a Xeon X5680 be worth it?

The real issue with X58 is not just the CPU, no SATA 3, no PCI-E3, no USB 3.

    6700K or 5820K?

A day after my last post someone posted this video Same spot, 6700k OC to 4.8 handled it well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6axdpjyZzA
