Thanks. One of the possible fixes that's been discussed in this discussion is a BIOS update. One of the reasons I revived this discussion was to see if anyone had updated the BIOS and, if so, what the outcome was.
This thread leads me to believe that a BIOS update could fix the issue...
Yeah, unfortunately I already tried all of those legacy versions, and they didn't work with > 4GB of RAM. Remember, the issue isn't Windows 7 compatibility so much as it is with compatibility with memory > 4GB.
Would you share some of these links? I spent a nearly sleepless night trying to find X1200 drivers that work with Windows 7 and > 4GB of RAM but could not find any.
As I mentioned, my machine is running fine now with the Vista drivers, but I had to throttle my machine to 4GB of addressable RAM.
I have had the same problem with my Acer Aspire M5100 and am wondering what the outcome of these experiments was.
