I have a p4 2.4 gig c1 with stock heat sink and fan and I am not over clocked, soyo dragon lite mobo,crucial mem pc 2700, 80 gig WD hd, an 8x gforce 440 128 meg vcard and Im using XP pro. The problem is that all of the sudden it will reboot it self for no apparent reason. It has been running...

:D hey thanks :beer: my rig was acting stupid and I just couldnt figure it out. why cant they ( MS ) just leave a good thing alone :Q I removed the patch as soon I read what everybody said and now I'm flying again. :)

Thanks for the advise. I did everything. then I tried a generic modem / sound adaptor it is a conextent with riptide sound and game port XP recognized it and installed the drivers and now problem solved. I believe that the aopen card I tried, because it had the same chipset and drivers as mobo...

I have a gateway solo 2500 that wont let me into the bios because it no longer recognizes my password. How do you reset the cmos so it will erase the password? :confused:

I'm just woundering how many people out there have soyo boards and has onboard sound been a long time problem or am I the only one:frown:

I did all that and no change. Also I removed the sound card and disabled the onboard sound now it never locks up but I got no sound. Just a thought, the sound card has the same chip set as the mobo could that be a problem

I just got a soyo P4X400 dragon lite mobo and have a problem with the sound. The onboard sound locks up the system with certain applications so I got an Aopen cobra Aw-850 sound card and now it locks up with all apps any ideas out there
