    BOINC Pentathlon 2025

While a 1024 daily quota can be a problem with a 64+ thread server, I still don't really see the big problem then it comes to "normal" home computers. To me a "normal" home computer include at most one "usable" GPU + up to 32-thread CPU. While some CPU's also include GPU, I would guess this...

Hmm, the only thing mentioned in original message was 1024 daily quota so no idea what type of "quirk" you're talking about.

    BOINC Pentathlon 2025

Hello, it's been very little crunching the last year, and didn't remember about the Pentathlon before 13. May.

    BOINC Pentathlon 2025

Hmm, well, with zero work for WCG, having Einstein@home as zero share backup project seems to keep computers busy, meaning "scheduler policy works for me" and would guess it also works for the roughly 99% other Einstein@home users using "normal" home computers as long as don't try to cache...

    BOINC Pentathlon 2025

Well personally I would love if WCG's scheduling server said had reached a daily quota of 1024 tasks, since this would mean would have enough work to the end of the Pentathlon. Instead, WCG is spitting-out "Another scheduler instance is running for this host" and if this continues would run-out...

    BOINC Pentathlon 2022

Hmm, "Einstein@Home | No work is available for Gamma-ray pulsar binary search #1 on GPUs" does make it a slow process queueing Einstein-work... By my recollection the other type of GPU-wu's are FUBAR and wherefore not an option. But, on CPU, is where any kind of pros/cons between the 3...

    BOINC Pentathlon 2022

Hmm, I can't see any linked guides for creating a second bunker, let alone creating 14 different bunkers... Besides, if creating separate bunkers somehow includes running multiple BOINC-instances, would guess trying to keep track of 14 different instances would very quickly get really...

    Info 11th BOINC Pentathlon 2020

Congrats on silver overall. After seeing the final standing in Javelin Throw this category's scoring-method finally made some sense. To remember this for next years Pentathlon on the other hand...

Can't figure out what e-mail I used for BOINC in the past, any way someone can help me find this info?

Unless you've completely removed BOINC on all your computers, in you're on windows you can try using File Explorer and opening-up \programdata\boinc (programdata is a hidden directory) and you should have one account_project_url.xml per project. If you open-up one of these...

    Info 11th BOINC Pentathlon 2020

Ah, yes, I'll definitely use this suggestion instead of the confusing and overly complicated stick-throwing contest. Hello, Assimilator1. A little bored with corona-lockdowns, but apart for this thinks are ok. Oh, and I've still not learned correct usage of then and...

    Info 11th BOINC Pentathlon 2020

Hello, good to see some of the old-timers are still active. It's been close to 3 years since my last visit. Now if I start using post-it notes with "password is..." or "email is..." maybe it won't take another 3 years until next time...

    Info 11th BOINC Pentathlon 2020

Since current Rosetta-work has a 3-day deadline it's a waste of time to build a bunker at this time.

    Call to Arms - Rally for a 4 Day Sprint on project Seti@Home June 9th - 12th

Well seeing I did have one pending result it's not so long since last ran SETI... :innocent: Now is it just my imagination, or have something happened to these forums - since I can't remember it was possible to just choose from a list of smilies last time was here. ... or rather...

Go into your Rosetta-preferences and change "Target CPU run time" to 1 hour, save and afterwards hit "update" in your BOINC-client. Note, this setting take effect when a task starts, not as it's downloaded, meaning you can change the run-time on all work already cached on client and not yet...
