    ASUS Motherboard Comparison Help Needed

I am considering 2 ASUS motherboards for an non-gaming, lots of data processing, with many applications open (including rendering 3 hour projects with Camtasia), driving 4 monitors use, and need help to decide on the best motherboard for the application. I am considering: 1. Z87 Pro Socket...

Which MOBO Manufacturer is Customer Friendly?

I read lots of reviews of Motherboards, there is no lack of reviews. I also read at locations like Newegg, reviews of specific experiences with motherboards. There are NO lack of problems with any of them. The fact that any manufacturer will have problems with product is a given. What I...

    Back to Basics

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. With these passive cards will I still be able to play webinars? Also, I must confess, I do not like AMD/ATI cards, have never been able to make them work and have problems with them at every turn (I need to spend time producing, not fixing pc...

    New Build-Waiting on IVB

Oh well. I had written a good ending for this story, but somehow it went into the electronic void (disappear). I was saying (I think): THANK YOU EVERYBODY, YOU CAN CONSIDER THIS THREAD CLOSED !!! On the way to here, I learned a few things: 1. Unless you are a gamer, you do not need...

    New Build-Waiting on IVB

THANKS ALL !!! we can consider this post closed. I learned a few things in this conversation: 1. Unless you need 3D and/or shading (like in gaming) - you don't need a powerful, hot card 2. For 2D stuff, even if the data comes fast, you need enough simple cards to display it. 3. Ensure what you...

    New Build-Waiting on IVB

Great discussion and good suggestions. Thank You! Now I am leaning towards this card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814162083 I have the option to use either Intel iG's and/or all of my monitors on the card itself, for the same price.

    New Build-Waiting on IVB

Yes, this (using the iGPU) may be a possibility. The risk to me is: buy 2 in-family graphic cards together? Or buy 1 and if the setup does not work, I am stuck with a card I can't use. I need to learn more about the IVB+MOB. May be I keep on working this, right up to when the market opens for...

    New Build-Waiting on IVB

I was wrong above. It was not May 2011 it was May 2010 (times flies I guess). If you want to get an idea of the speed the market can have, watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mC4tu1NhUA If you get past the first minute (normal market), you will see the real action. You may...

    New Build-Waiting on IVB

Yes, I am not a gamer, however, I need a system that can take in lots of rushing data and display it near-real time. I don't need 3D or fancy shading. I need to see the Market graphs when the market is moving very fast. my current computer locked up in the crash of May 2011. I can't afford...

    New Build-Waiting on IVB

Thanks for the feedback. How about this choice: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=1kar89s2riqmo I can see this card can drive 4 monitors (it comes with the connecting cables to do that).

If you guys don't mind me asking, what is the unstated issue with the 460's? Are near obsolescence? will they be the bottle neck of the system? If so, I would ask for suggestions (not AMD - have had BAD experiences with them). Power is not an issue with the rest of the system. I am driving...

    New Build-Waiting on IVB

SickBeast, thanks for the input good suggestion, however, in the review I read at TechPowerUp, they said this: "Display connectivity is two DVI ports, one full size HDMI port and one full size DisplayPort. Due to NVIDIA's architecture you may only use two outputs at the same time." I give...

    New Build-Waiting on IVB

I am not sure I understand your post T_Yamamoto. The memory I intend to use is 1.25V. This is my question. 1.5V vs 1.25V - I am assuming the newer CPUs will force the entire system to run cooler and thus be able to use lower voltage (less waste heat). But, will 1.25V work?
