Sounds like ACPI Suspend is set to S1(POS). Go into your BIOS Power Management section. Under ACPI Suspend Type, make sure it is set to S3(STR). Hope this works. Cheers, Bruce.

Plan do do this too, using Full Win98 CD to upgrade to WinXPpro onto empty hard disk. When I boot from XP CD, will it allow me to do disk management such as I did with FDISK and FORMAT? Can I set up an NTFS volume and format it ready for XP install, all from the XP CD?

Owensdj. Tks. Just occurred to me. Have been used to doing "DOS" style disk partitioning and formatting (using FAT32). With the WinXP drive I shall be using NTFS. How do I go about partitioning and formatting the drive for NTFS? I don't have any utilities (FDISK FORMAT) to do it. Cheers.
