i want to experiment with fedora core but i need it installed on my laptop.

we are looking at a distributed file system with ~500 or so users.
i don't know what other services are going to be used but traditionally at my company, the file server only serves files. we don't use it for anything else.

i need to find documentation on determining the minimum ram specification for a windows 2000 server being used as a file server.
i saw an article relating to windows server 2003 but i am not sure how applicable this is to the older version.
also i could use a good formula to determine this...

i ran into the same issue installing today....
if it is fromn the action pack,
when it asks for sp2, put in the gold xp sp2 cd you recieved in the same media center shipment.....
i had to swap discs 4 times to get the install finished....
i was hoping that the new bios would add support for faster ram, so that we could use pc3200 in it without the laptop failing to boot.
i did notice the new splash screen and some other things are re-ordered but i don't see much else myself.
i flashed my m6805 to the m6809 bios posted above. aside from the blank screen described that gave me a heart attack in the beginning, everything went well. my new bios appears to have been successful.
anyone try adding faster ram yet?
i take that you haven't seen the ipaq 6300 series yet then? the only thing missing is a kb and edge (iirc). this is going to be my next phone......think palm t|t 3 sized pocketpc phone

i have been playing with mine for a while now and i have to say that this is one of the the best laptops i have ever used. the price/performance is great (got it for 1250 after rebates/rz certificates).
gateway did buy emachines and they will use them as their retail channel sales....gateway...
