It's been a few months since I RMA'd the motherboard, and it was working flawlessly until yesterday. I got two successive cold boot errors after the machine was off for ~8 hours. It booted fine on the third try. I'll run an HDD test just in case. Still running 1.50 BIOS.
I got a lot of BSODs with my first ASrock mobo (I'm on my third). With that, I had installed Windows in IDE mode on the SATAII port, and then installed the SATAII drivers from Windows. Installing the SATAII drivers during initial Windows setup seemed to help me.
Have you tried installing on a SATAI port? The SATAII port/controller could be defective as it was on my mobo and Athlon64SSE3's mobo. Only RMA'ing fixed the problem for us.
Black Raven, Legacy USB Support was actually already disabled on my mobo when I was having problems. In one of my previous posts, I suggested turning it on to see if it helps! Anyway, glad it worked for you. For me RMA'ing the board was the only fix. It also seems to let me run my RAM at...
If your video card has enough RAM - 256MB, maybe 128MB, you can probably put AGP aperture to 32MB. If I recall, this mobo or Windows will take away 2xAGP Aperture from available RAM, and double that if you are running memory in dual-channel mode - so a 256MB aperture would reduce addressable...
Your memory problem sounds like a "Memory Hole" problem, but I'm surprised to see it with 2GB. I had a similar problem with 4GB. Search this thread for "memory hole", and you can also refer to the FAQs on the ASrock website.
When I plug a headset into the front panel audio out on my computer, the volume drops dramatically on the left speaker connected to the rear panel audio out (lime, labeled "Front Speaker)! Has anyone else noticed this, or could some people check to see if this happens with them too?

I thought boake my take this one, but here goes. Most HDD's do have jumpers to switch the HDD itself to SATAII mode, and I think most are shipped with SATAII enabled. Hitachi drives need to use a firmware utility to switch between SATAI and SATAII modes.
In the ASrock motherboard BIOS, you...

Just an update - the freezing problem has completely gone away since I RMA'd the motherboard. Thanks everybody for your support!
Also, I just ran Windows Update, and it reported that a new JMicron RAID driver is available:

Running rock-solid for 5 days! UNTIL NOW! Just had the cold boot problem on SATAII - 3 failed resets too. Then I changed the slave IDE ports to "Not Installed" and booted okay - for now. Regardless, no freezing on the new motherboard so far.
