Lesson learned. There are so many claimed hot-swappable USB/firewire devices, external drives, cameras, camcorders, etc. Do you always power off both the computer and the device first before connecting them? Guess life is no longer easy.
Too bad I didn't think that Dazzle did it until I...
the USB ports are working fine with my flash drives, so the headers are connected correctly, I think. the ground pins of both ports are also connected. maybe the board design is inadequate?
I guess a warning to others who own this board: don't hot plug any USB device, especially products of...
And I fried two :-(
wondering if it's worthwhile to call them since both are over 30 days now. If it's so sensitive to front USB device, maybe I should go get a different board instead of having future headaches.
The first board has nothing, no fans.
The second board has fans but no beep, no POST, black screen.
It's hard to imaging you can't hot plug a USB flash drive, this dazzle is just a SD card reader, I hot plugged it on several other machines without any problem before.
Need help!
My system powered off automatically after I plugged in a USB dazzle SD card reader and won't boot again. it's been stable for one month. I took the board out of the case, took out the cmos battery and reseated, reset the jumper, connected the power only, the power indicating light...
I found an extra mounting bracket underneath the board left from the previous board close to the floppy connector. I thought it doesn't hurt to give the board some extra support when I press in the connector or memory chips. It looks like it must have created a short by touching on the...
I've tried booting from a floppy, didn't work. It's not the driver.
Yes I also tried a different floppy, same error. Both floppies worked fine in another machine.
Update: furballi you'r the man. I finally decided to take the board out of the case, it booted to a win 98 floppy disk!
Sigh, the only thing I haven't done is taking the board out of the case. Can't believe I spend the whole Saturday morning for the stupid floppy
Would hate to RMA the whole thing because of the floppy. I guess I can live without it. Who use the floppy anyway...
pin2,4 are for power LED, but the case power LED connection is a 2 pin connection but separated by a empty space. How to fit them?
tried all of the above for the floppy, no luck
Same question ShOcKwAvE827, couldn't figure out where to hook up power LED
Any one having trouble with floppy connection? I always get disc not formatted error. Tried the same cable and drive on other computers, works fine. Not like I need the floppy, but just in case. Any suggestion?
