posted originally in off-topic altho since the software seems to be somewhat beta, this is probably a better place to put it. It's pure javascript, first one I've seen like this.
Anybody familiar with the term AJAX? Stuff that google uses for google maps and such? Apparently that's what...
why pointless? chat = talking + realtime response while the forum provides a slightly more formal/permanent mode of discussion, two different modes of communication
if you're going to say it's pointless, at least give a reason
finally a legitimate response:P
it's too bad that AJAX was the first term that caught on, but I guess everybody was tired of saying 'rich internet application'
Although it's spreading. I see little bits of Ajax everywhere. Yahoo 360 uses it, heck even banana republic uses it:P
great, I know, I'll spam up new threads with posts about how illegitimate new posters are until I get my post count up:P Wow, normally I'm a really nice guy. Forums like these bring out the worst in people eh?:P
AJAX = Asynchronous Javascript And XML, cutesy term started by adaptive path, but think of a better one and get people to use it:P I thought anandtech people were up to date with this stuff:P
saw this in another forum, best use of AJAX I've seen outside of google apps, let's you chat with other ATers while browsing anandtech forums. I'd really like to see this catch on, it'd be nice to meet the other people in the forums...
