Well just recently my stock speed e6600 and stock HSF have been overheating. I ran TAT at 100% on both chips and got a system alarm after the chip hit 70C. Thinking the HSF came unseated I removed the old thermal paste and put on new. Still the same thing. Does anyone know what the stock fan...

I used the ATI catalyst drivers from ATIs page. I just downloaded and installed the Asus Catalyst drivers and I am going to see if it gives me different results. Otherwise I may have to try and RMA. I know the GPU can get pretty hot and be ok, I was just more curious about the voltage...

actually now that I think about it, I don't think the card is damaged. It doesn't really artifact until the vreg gets to be around 79-80ish C then some of the shadows get messed up and in fear sometimes the floor tiling stretches more. When the card is warm/idling there are no issues.

Actually it says for Asus, to RMA through your supplier, so I guess I'd have to RMA through newegg.

I'll call them, but having owned the computer for almost 7-8 months I doubt they will RMA it. I'm gonna send a letter to their support and see what they say.

All dust (barely any) was removed. No need for the side of the case to be removed there is holes all over it for air intake. I can hear the fan roaring at full speed the entire time.

Looks to be because of temperature, I forced the fan to 100% and it stayed around 75C and it didn't crash. It seems like the onboard logic isn't cranking the fan up enough and it's overheating?

DOH! i don't have a floppy disk drive so I can't load the AHCI drivers as windows setup doesn't support pulling the drivers from a cdrom :( Guess I'll have to go buy one. So I guess is this trouble worth the performance gain, and how much will it affect my performance?
