Would this be a worthwhile upgrade? AFAIK 7800GTX SLI loses little to a single 8800GTX (when SLI works), and therefore should keep up with a single 8800GT most of the time. Am I right or wrong??

Nope, not referring to that (which in this case is effect of taking a pic of an lcd without a flash). You're correct. No way should one have moire effect on an lcd.
I'm referring to the trail seen when dragging a window (not ghosting).

xtnight, how would you work through determining bad refresh rate/interlace modes? BTW, the new monitor is the Samsung 275T. Had the same problem with 2407WFP-HC that I returned b/c of the ghosting issue.
Recently upgraded to LCD monitor, and now suffer from from following artifact:

This isn't a screen capture from my computer, but I have a milder version of this problem. Didn't have it with my CRT screen.
Any idea how to get rid of...
OK, SLI newbie question: when updating video drivers in a system currently running SLI do you have to go through the pain of disabling SLI, or can you update as normal with no special intervention (keeping SLI enabled in mobo).

Has this been confirmed/tested?
Just to be clear, for the X2 fix we need to:
1. install AMD X2 drivers
2. install MS hotfix
3. perform reg hack as on MS link
4. enable the hotfix by using a value of "1" in the registry
Is that correct, or do we leave it at "0" in the registry as MS...
Weird thing happened. I've had an Athlon64 system at stable overclock for ~ 1yr without ever having problems. Went away for the weekend (accidently left machine on). Came back and found the computer power off. Tried to boot the machine and it started a continuous cycle of booting into windows...
