Connection sharing help: Router -> PC -> Router

Hi guys, I need some help to enable my PC, Xbox360 and Nintendo DS to share our home's wireless connection. We have one wireless router for our whole house, and I have a router of my own, which I used to use in our old house to connect my PC, Xbox and DS to the 'Net. In that house, I was...

Personal WEP Access Point for Nintendo DS?

Hi guys, I want to enable my Nintendo DS to connect to the internet, but it only supports WEP encryption. My household has a WPA router running, so I dont think its fair to compromise the security of the whole house to let my DS get online. Anyway, I did buy a cheap USB adapter that can...

Need good HSF for AM2 CPU

I bought the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro, and an extra 92mm which is hanging underneath my PSU intake fan (ie blowing air from the inside of my case out through the PSU. its in series with the PSU fan). My case temps are in the mid thirties when idle and the mid 40's under load, which is a...

    Passively cooled 4850?

Yeah, I could really use a faster CPU I think. My current one is holding my graphics card back. I might upgrade my graphics card next month, then upgrade mobo and CPU end of this year or January. Think I may as well wait for both Nehalem and Shanghai to come out and see which is better.

To upgrade or not to upgrade?

Probably not a bad idea. According to this: http://www.legionhardware.com/document.php?id=770&p=10 raising your clockspeed just might get you 7FPS. And thats from 132 to 139, not 1 to 8. So..... quite little. What graphics card do you have?

To upgrade or not to upgrade?

I'd be very surprised if you gained a meaningful performance gain from doing that. Just wait for Nehalem?

CPU upgrade ...do I need it, will I notice it?

I had the same case - my PC with the same motherboard wouldnt boot with all 4 RAM slots filled. To get round it, increase the RAM voltage slightly. I found out that the DIMMS I had were recommended for use with 2.1V, but the motherboard had chosen 1.8V for them. Bump them up to 2.1V, and all is...

Need good HSF for AM2 CPU

It was already getting to 60C under load, but that was with uber bad cable management. Cleaned up the cable management last night when I installed my AcoustiPack soundproofing (ie I actually did cable management as opposed to doing nothing) and the temps were about 40C idle this morning. Ya...

Need good HSF for AM2 CPU

I probably should, but not yet. its a CoolerMaster Wavemaster, really wishing I had got that P180 instead. I bought it because it looked pretty cool and it was supposed to be half the weight of the P180. Yeah, next case wil have better ventilation! Am actually thinking of upgrading my PC...

So What happened to AMD processors?

AMD had a good few months, or even a year, of losing badly to both Nvidia and Intel at the same time. They have now come out at least equal to Nvidia with their 4800 series, which forced Nvidia to drop their prices. As for Intel.... they compete well on price, but not really performance. They...

CPU upgrade ...do I need it, will I notice it?

I'd say if you want to upgrade your CPU, just buy a new motherboard and CPU. Its a bit more expensive, but you will notice it far more.

Need good HSF for AM2 CPU

Thanks, thats what I'm thinking. The Xigmatek s963 has a height of 134mm. It..... probably is within my case's limit, but I think I'll go on the safe side and get the Freezer 64. As long as it cools my CPU better than stock while (hopefully) producing less noise I'll be happy. The other thing...

Need good HSF for AM2 CPU

Hmmm, thanks guys. Might be a little big for my case though. I really dont want to order something that doesnt fit again! What do you guys think of the venerable Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro? I see the latest version adds AM2 support and PWM.

Need good HSF for AM2 CPU

So, I bought a Xigmatek HDT s1283 for my 5600+, but stupidly forgot to measure my case (yes I feel like an idiot). So I need to return it, but now I'm looking for a new one. I finally did measure my case, and measure about 13.5cm from the motherboard to the inside of the door, and 15cms to...

Unimpressed with all this new hardware

I think I get what the OP is saying. Between my Athlon 700 with 256mb of RAM, Athlon XP 2400+ with 1GB of RAM, and my Athlon X2 5600+ with 4GB of RAM and two 7200rpm drives in RAID 0, they all feel about the same speed navigating windows. Obviously my latest PC with its 8800 GTS blows them...
