Looking for advice on a new P&S camera

It's been a long time since I upgraded my camera (my current one still takes floppy disks!) and I'm looking for a little advice. I've read a few reviews including 996GT2's and really like the look of the Fuji F100fd. My question here is, are there any other cameras you guys like that you think...

2 perfect spheres, same diameter, same weight...one aluminum, one steel. How can you tell them apart?

It's an interesting point to make. Weight and mass are not the same, even though we commonly assume they are. Your linked example is specifically referring to weight (net force of gravitational pull and buoyancy acting on an object of a given mass), but the original question specifically noted...

    Newbie to DVD-video needs advice

That's my best guess at this point to, but, unfortunately, the software that comes with Windows Vista gives you no options at all on how it is encoded or burned. The only info I could find in the help file is that it is burning a DVD-video disc and the audio encoding is Dolby Digital Recording...

    Newbie to DVD-video needs advice

Thanks for the referral, I will definitely try out video help. As for media type, I know that they require DVD-R, but I've think I've ruled out media as the problem by trying a DVD-R off of the same spindle they are already using to burn there copies of their own VHS tapes.

    Newbie to DVD-video needs advice

Hey guys, I'm brand new to digital video and was hoping to get some advice on a few things. First, a short description of what I have: -A digital video camera that records to miniDV and has USB2.0 output. -A relatively new computer with Windows Vista -Windows Movie Maker and DVD Maker...

Mothers in Haiti are having to choose which child lives or dies

For that, you should probably check out the debate thread. It looks like a pretty good approach to me. I usually try to keep two things in mind when evaluating a charity; first is the approach and second is the amount of money that goes to direct aid. For charities that have profiles at BBB...

How can silver powder be made both conductive and non-conductive?

Definitely a matter of concentration. I did a quick web search and found a few MSDSs that list the major components of conductive silver paints: http://www.hkwdirect.net/acata...m/datasheets/23711.pdf http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/23711.pdf While the MSDS doesn't have to disclose all...

    Question about SETI

A slight omission from your logic is that we will also advance during those 1000 years. So actually, the only difference is that they will be about 70 years advanced from the original transmission we get from them (if it only took that long for the signal to get here) and then both...

    Obama's 95% Illusion

I don't know about taxpolicycenter, but I think most of the numbers come from campaign websites, although they are not always easy to find. I haven't had as much time for research as I like, but I did find this little gem a while back that not only gives a detailed, non-partisan summary of both...

    Obama's 95% Illusion

Actually, this is not true. As Rainsford alluded; be careful where you get your information. If you're interested in candidates proposed tax policies, here is a good link: http://www.taxpolicycenter.org...tion_issues_matrix.cfm In fact, in addition to all those credits you mention, Obama...

    Question about SETI

I don't know of any continuously transmitted messages, but we have sent several messages to specific stars with the intent of communication. Check out this link for more info. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_SETI I find it especially interesting to see how the scientists choose to...

how to build massive starships in the future...

Something tells me that will never happen. What kind of structural integrity can you really expect from a massive piece of rock, not to mention all that extra mass that has to be propelled by the engines. I think the general approach of modular design and assembly will persist. What will...

Would telepathy be bound by the speed of light?

Wait, let me see if I understand you correctly. You know the truth, but you can't say it in public? ... Priceless. An excellent way to end an argument. :)
