well i went and bought a corsair 700w psu at bb. plugged that into the pc and it fired right up with no problem. i then tried the seasonic with shorting out the green/blk and it is still dead. it is amazing that i spent $200 for this psu with the knowledge that it is one of the best ones out...

i have a antec 550w that i am going to try. this seasonic is only 4 months old

resetting the cmos is not going to do anything. this is a psu problem. the psu will not even turn on when i short the green and blk wires on the connector.
