OK, let's get rid of these silly myths. It's posts like this that build up too much hype for a CPU, then people get disappointed when their E8600 won't do 4.5GHz. Mine might do it, but it'd take crazy voltage to get there. 4.25GHz at 1.372 (load) is the best I can do without going over 1.4V...

Can I join in? Been enjoying my E8600 since a few weeks ago. I got a week 20 (Q820A670), 4.25GHz Prime stable using 1.372V (load) and 1.360 (idle). That's my 24/7 OC. Very nice chip, but it seems I got an average one compared to some I've seen. I'm reluctant to take it past 1.4V. Did get up...

OK, I'm prepared to remove everything if changing paste, that's cool. I love taking stuff to bits! I'll be using my fave paste, MX-2. It's good for 8 years, apparently. Not that I'd leave it that long or stay with one processor until 2016, but whatever. Thanks Navid. ;)

So, I don't have to use the sticky adhesive pads at all, I can just leave them on without peeling? I'm about to receive an Ultima 90 through the post in a couple of days and I would prefer not to stick anything to my lovely P5Q-E.

Just a quick question: Does anyone know if a ZEROtherm Nirvana CPU cooler will fit inside a CM Wave Master case? If not, what super-cooler would you recommend for an overclocked E8600? Currently considering the new Arctic Cooling Freezer Xtreme too, but I would like more options. Thanks y'all.
