i ran the diagnostic tool before i posted...sorry forgot to mention that. both the quick and extended tests came up fine. more info my jumpers are on 5 and 3. this particular 'responsive issue' only seems to happen when i select a quasi-large file (i.e. more than 50megs). could it be the way...
