i have a ASUS k8v with 2 regular ide chains 2 southbridge sata chains and a promise controller which is disabled.
i have 3 hdds 2 opticle drives
2 hhds on the first ide chain 2 opticle drives on the second ide chain
and the 3rd drive is on the first (0) sata chain of the south bridge...

this is very simple 60 gig drive for windows connected to dvd
both 160 on secondary chain in a striped raid 0 array done in windows through the software if you need to know how to go to tomshardware and search for software raid.

so the promise controller is over the pci bus giving two more sata raid ports but not direct thru southbridge
so how would that effect performance of a 4 drive raid 0 i wouldnt be able to do it natively would i because they would use 2 different controllers

all you have to do is hook up your speakers and your headphones and they will both work all the time i do it with my audigy 1 with my 4.1's runing in 2.1 and headphones with a mic on them as well
