    ASUS P8H67-M PRO B3 - No sound! (Realtek ALC892, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit)

Hmm. I wonder if my issue with P8H67-M PRO is the same. I want a working replacement too!

    ASUS P8H67-M PRO B3 - No sound! (Realtek ALC892, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit)

Having an ASUS employee writing to one non-US user on a US forum, is hardly acknowledging the problem. And several people seem to have this problem, not just me.

    ASUS P8H67-M PRO B3 - No sound! (Realtek ALC892, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit)

Asus has some kind of systemic problem here. We should make some sort of joint effort to make Asus acknowledge this problem.

    ASUS P8H67-M PRO B3 - No sound! (Realtek ALC892, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit)

I'm using the Sandy Bridge built-in GPU within the CPU, HD3000 I believe it's called in my Core i5-2500k.

    ASUS P8H67-M PRO B3 - No sound! (Realtek ALC892, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit)

I'm in Denmark, Europe, so that's probably easier said than done. Nice service for American customers, though. I don't think ASUS has the same service in Denmark?

    ASUS P8H67-M PRO B3 - No sound! (Realtek ALC892, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit)

I tried with a newer PSU with a 24-pin connector. Still no sound. I also tried connecting to a front panel connector in another case. The Realtek control panel registered that it was connected, but still no sound from either back panel or front panel. There are no jumpers associated with...

    ASUS P8H67-M PRO B3 - No sound! (Realtek ALC892, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit)

In my case, the driver manager recognizes the speakers just fine. It pops up a message when they're connected, and it shows the lime green minijack in the UI as non-foggy (as you call it), and connected. But no sound.

I have (of course) tried both. In endless combinations with other parameters.

    ASUS P8H67-M PRO B3 - No sound! (Realtek ALC892, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit)

Update: I tried the TOSLINK (optical) output today. It works fine. I haven't tried HDMI yet, but I suspect it works fine. The analog still doesn't work :(

    ASUS P8H67-M PRO B3 - No sound! (Realtek ALC892, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit)

I'm afraid you're right :) Okay, maybe I should try them. On the other hand, why waste many hours of my life getting a brand new motherboard to work. I could just send it back and buy another H67 board. One that works. I agree that it is extremely unlikely that I have gotten two...

    ASUS P8H67-M PRO B3 - No sound! (Realtek ALC892, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit)

I already did all these things and every conceivable combination thereof. No sound. The speakers are normal cheap pc speakers that have worked for ages, they still work in any other computer, laptop or desktop, I tried with other speakers as well. I tried playing several audio files, but my...

    ASUS P8H67-M PRO B3 - No sound! (Realtek ALC892, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit)

I tried connecting a front panel connector from another case. Alas, no sound. This is so frustrating! I'm beginning to think I'll never get sound out of this board. I can't believe this isn't all over the Asus forum.

    ASUS P8H67-M PRO B3 - No sound! (Realtek ALC892, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit)

Interesting info about connecting the front panel connectors. I already considered this, but I don't have a case with a front panel connector.

I'm not sure, I've had this problem with two motherboards and another guy had it with one. I already did try those. No sound.
