Hi.. welcome to the forums.. how to find/change your timings: make your way into bios/cmos, then choose advanced options, there you should be able to find the memory timings. pick the option where you can change your timings(Unfortunately it´s not on all mobo's where it's possible to change...

didn't you get a manual to your mobo, when you bought it??.. if not, DL the manual from your mobo's webside.. all the answers you're seeking should be there...

I use mostly use Asusprobe, because it came with my mobo, but sometimes MBM is more accurate, because it reads the core directly, sometimes i doubt if Probe does that, i only think probe reads the external heat of the CPU, and it's more useful to know the core clock, because you can OC your Cpu...

I totally agree, i often get orders or questions from peaple there is bying or building a budget comp. i useally use the athlon Xp 2500+ or the 2100+(like you said) because they are very easy to OC.. and besides, if your bying a new comp. and your limited by a budget, you simply don't by A64...

we have ACER comp.'s at my school and they are very stable, and many of my fellow students also have ACER notebooks. if you want a cheap quality brand, i would highly recemend Acer..
