My research does not require DP, I am SP -- do you think that would still work? My math is 250W * 4 GPU + 130W CPU + ?? Motherboard + ?? 2x SSD + ?? Misc >= 1130 W and the PSU is 1250W... cutting too close?

This is for zero gaming. This is for CUDA research. I need 4x cards because the research is about scaling an algorithm across 4x GPUs. 4x GPUs is a must (non-negotiable), just want the fastest 4x cards possible with this power supply. I don't want to goto a 1600W PSU since I am not sure about...

I am planning to get a i7-4820K and OCZ 1250W PSU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341046). What are the 4 fastest NVIDIA GPUs I can fit for this system? I posted earlier, and I think the 4x GTX780 is too power hungry, would 4x GTX770 work? Or would I need to go even slower...

So are you saying 1250W would or would not be enough? GPU 4x250 + 200 = 1.2k...
