What does the router internal page say as the status of the WAN link? Can you release\renew from the router internal page? What type of router?

My understanding is that with GigE you're usually going to be limited by your drives. I could be wrong though.

Do you have a modem in the machine that's also plugged in? if so, that sounds like the problem. DSL uses freq's above human hearing, so I don't think it's the DSL modem.
