My 100 gb wd hard drive died on me about 1 week after I purchased it. Luckily I was able to RMA it and exchange it for a new one. Also I didn't lose any data because the Smart HD program was enabled so it detected it early. The exchanged 100 gb wd has been running smoothly for about a month now.
If you were to choose I would pick Seagate, i have one, they are very quiet and sweet
