Yeah, that's my experience with burning CD's. They are "rated" at a certain speed. So if you have CD-R's that are rated at 8x, then they should be (roughly) 99% reliable being burned at 8x. Burn 8x rated CD-R's at 12x and you might see problems, you might not. Depends on how lucky...
