If you have separate user accounts, this is rather simple. In each account, go to Display Properties, then set things to the preferred resolution for that user.

CPU upgrades (same mobo) will *never* require an OS reinstall (I went from a P-II 350 to a 1 GHz P-III in my old Tyan Trinity 400 and kept everything...it just ran *faster*). Mobo upgrades *may* require a reinstall if a significant new feature is added (when the Trinity was replaced by an ABIT...
